It’s a full house at the old Stuart Wood school building.

Christa Mullaly, the executive director of the CMHA in Kamloops says, it’s been a full house almost every night since the old Stuart Wood school opened in November as as temporary winter homeless shelter.

“Our max capacity is 52 at the shelter right now so we have certainly been seeing up to 52 clients each night.”

She says, they’re in discussions with the city and other stakeholders about the possibility of opening another shelter.
