Dylan Courtnage said without a roof over his head it was very difficult to have a stable ground under his feet.

“It’s pretty hard to get back on your feet when you’re floating from couch to couch,” he said.

Earlier this year, the Collingwood man arrived at the Barbara Weider House, a residence for homeless youths operated by Home Horizon, a housing support program.

Courtnage said he was having issues at home and had no job and no place to go when he arrived.

He said the roof over his head allowed him to pound the pavement and get a job in a kitchen and save up money to get his own place.
